AQUALYX™ is an injectable fat dissolving solution that eliminates small pockets of fat from areas such as the legs, hips, arms, tummy & chin
AQUALYX™ is an injectable solution, which is biocompatible and biodegradable. It causes the dissolution of fat cells, after which the body then expels the released fatty acids naturally.
AQUALYX™ is a water-based solution that is injected into the fatty tissue, surrounds the cells and destroys them. The remains of the fat cells are then excreted by the body safely as waste. Within the following weeks the treated fat cells are gradually dissolved. The metabolism in the treated area is increased. Usually 2 injection spots are required per region with the amount of product used differing according to the area of fat being treated. The number of treatments required can vary dependent on the area/amount being treated with as little as 1 or 2 treatments required in some cases, going up to 8 in others. Repeat treatments occur every 4 weeks.
AQUALYX™ is intended for patients with localised fat tissue not responding to diet or increased physical exercise. AQUALYX™ is not intended for weight loss, it is used to improve and alter the contour of the body. Results cannot be compared to liposuction, as that is an operative method of fat reduction where large amounts of fat are permanently removed from the body. The results of AQUALYX™ are permanent, however the procedure takes time to reach its full effect.
During AQUALYX™ treatment, the skin is cleaned and then numbed with an anaesthetic cream before the solution is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue using very thin, fine cannulas. Local anaesthetic is added to the solution before injecting to make it more comfortable with the treatment being relatively painless. Patients report a warm sensation, itching, slight burning, slight swelling and reddening appearance for 1-3 days within the treated area. Following treatment you may feel a little sore and swollen and we suggest you use light compression clothing for support and to aid the process.
How is it different to Kybella?
In comparison to Kybella, Aqualyx is not only more cost-effective and available in a larger quantity, there are also fewer side effects reported too.
Both treat the same indications and parts of the body where fat is the most hardest to remove.
Aqualyx is a compounded solution from the Deoxycholate family, whereas Kybella is Deoxycholic acid.
When we look at the cost efficiency of Kybella, it costs around $1500 for just 4x2ml or at most clinics, $500 per vial. Aqualyx costs approx $545 (if not less) for 10x8ml, which gives you 10 times more solution, for a lower cost too.
In other words, Kybella costs $188 per ml, whereas Aqualyx is only approx $7 per ml. A significant $181 saving per ml that allows individuals to shift stubborn fat and achieve a more contoured shape.
Kybella on the other hand, has to be reordered because 8ml will only treat 1.5cm of surface area. This can become a costly procedure, which doubles the costs even further.
Aqualyx is an extremely affordable alternative to Kybella and one user's comments were, "It burns so much more than our kybella here does! Wooo it's hot."

Process For Administering Aqualyx - How It Works
Individuals who long for a flawless silhouette can undergo lipotherapy or lipolysis (administration of Aqualyx) to achieve their perfectly contoured body shape. The term used to describe this procedure is known as Aqualysis or Aquaplasty. This process requires the use of special intralipotherapy needles (24G x 10cm not included), which once injected, liquify fat cells, permanently destroying them before releasing the fats into the lymphatic system.
An ultrasound device can be used to monitor the movement of Aqualyx into localized fat cells.
The whole process should take no more than an hour.
Although 2-8 treatments may be required, results are noticeable just after the first or second session. Treatments should be spaced out 4 weeks apart. More stubborn areas such as the hips and thighs may require more treatments than the chin and neck which can be treated in 1-3 sessions.
Using Local Anaesthetic Lid
It is recommended to use Lido to ensure painless treatment of Aqualyx. This can either be administered prior to treatment or mixed with the Aqualyx solution. If the practitioner opts for the latter, they will notice a cloudier solution of Aqualyx and can be reassured, this will not affect Aqualyx's effectiveness or stability.
This product does NOT come with the needle. You and your medical professional will need to source it yourself. Consulting with your medical practitioner on the technique they will use to administer Aqualyx should form the decision for which lipoinject intralipotherapy needle to purchase.
